Living Close to God (When You’re Not Good at it)

Posted: March 6, 2012 in Uncategorized

I finished reading Gene Edward’s book Living Close to God (When You’re Not Good at it) today.  I thought it was refreshing.  No doubt that most of us feel like we are spiritual morons from time to time.  We become frustrated that our efforts to grow close to the Lord and really know Him seem so complicated or out of reach.

Gene’s book brings a living walk with the Lord to the “bottom shelf” where all of us can understand and practice the presence of God.  I love the simple suggestions that are part of Gene’s testimony.  Slow down, call on the name of the Lord, remember Him throughout the day, find a song and sing it, are all part of walking with the Lord in a powerful and meaningful way.  This is a practical and thought provoking way of life that holds hope for even the most “spiritually handicapped”.
